    Consultant in palliative medicine since 2001, based in St Luke’s Hospital, Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children Crumlin and Our Lady’s Hospice Harolds Cross.

    Graduated from UCD in 1988, trained in Palliative Medicine with Dr Michael Kearney in Dublin and completed specialist training in Newcastle Upon Tyne with Prof Claud Regnard and Prof Tim Lovell.

    Developed the palliative care service in St Luke’s Hospital, with job sharing colleague Dr Marie Twomey.

    Special interest in Children’s Palliative Care and established the first palliative care service for children in Ireland on initial appointment in 2001 in OLCHC. Continues to have a keen interest in the development of services for children nationally.

    Registered trainer in palliative medicine in RCPI since 2003, training both specialist registrars in palliative medicine and GP trainee SHOs.
